Watch Out for Initials

Today's
Perfect Baby
Resources:
One of my readers wrote and said she thought I should give more importance to the discussion of "initials" in baby names. Most people have names whose initials don't spell a thing. Mine are GRM and I guess people could put an I in there and call me "grim", but they don't.

How about your name? Do the initials of your name spell anything? Do you know someone else who has initials that spell something ... maybe something nice or something awful? If you or someone you know has a story, fill in the comment box below.

Examples of baby names gone wrong:

Roger Alonzo Turner = RAT
Ruth Ingrid Perezi = RIP
Harry Owen Griffith = HOG

My sister's initials were MES (from Marguerite Ellen Savage) and I teased her about it meaning she was a messy person (I still feel bad about that :o| )

But ... how could parents of a Petra Margaret Sawyer know that "PMS" would later stand for Premenstrual Syndrome? Nearly ever disease has a short acronym these days. So beware!

Now for first name's spelling being something nice: Boothe from "Born Out Of Two Hearts Embracing" and Dahly from "David and Helen Love You". Isn't love great?

What I'm really getting at with all of this banter, is that you should check the initials of your baby-to-be's names and make sure they don't spell something you don't like. It's just one of the many things you have to think about when naming your baby.
